Progess Update (Heather)

Yesterday was my last of 18 (six weeks) sessions with a gym trainer. I asked her to measure me to see if I made any progress.

In the last six weeks I lost seven pounds (could be more, but hard to tell with the added muscle) and over nine inches!

This is a total of 20 lbs and 27 inches lost since Going Primal three months ago.

While it's still discouraging to see photos of myself or to go clothes shopping, these numbers give me some hope :)

Before:
Shirt size: XL

Now:

Shirt size: Medium

  1. You're definitely shrinking, Heather. You look great and so much happier in the latest photo.

  3. While males and females lose weight differently, I believe that both sexes show similarly significant changes in the face and neck. Your face and neck look very different in the photos. I recall noticing that change in myself when I lost weight. Whenever your progress seems slow and frustrating, be sure to look at your face and neck rather than be too distracted by everything else. At times you will be amazed by the differences.

  4. Wow, great job! Yes, with the smaller shirt you can definitely see that you've taken off quite a bit of fat. Keep up the great work, and don't worry, it is not a race. If you keep to eating primal it will come off.

Just out of curiosity, did you get past that plateau? Sometimes when you hit one it is hard to figure out what's causing it. Sometimes it can be from not getting enough sleep. Other times it is stress. Often, it is caused from not eating enough (which sounds weird, I know). All of these cause hormonal changes, especially an increase in cortisol, as well as other problems that will stop fat loss. Also, did adding in an extra serving of carbs (fruit or safe starch) help to increase your appetite at all?
